Russia attacks Kyiv region overnight: Homes and power lines damaged, with fires breaking out

Russian forces attacked the Kyiv region overnight on August 30 with strike drones and missiles. The air raid alert in the area lasted nearly 10 hours, Head of Kyiv Regional Military Administration, Mykola Kalyashnyk, reports.
“The air defense forces were active in the region. Enemy targets were shot down. There were no hits on critical infrastructure objects. The consequences of the attack are being documented in three districts of the region,” Kalyashnyk said.
According to the Head of Kyiv Regional Military Administration, in the Bucha district, two private homes were damaged, while in the Fastiv district, a railway power line was affected. Train movement has already been restored.
In the Obukhiv district, a private house and outbuildings were damaged. Emergency teams are continuing to assess and eliminate the consequences of the enemy shelling.
"I want to thank our hunters from the 'Clear Sky' project. Last night, they intercepted more than forty enemy drones. Keep it up," added the Head of Kyiv Regional Military Administration.
Russian attack on Ukraine
This night, Russian troops once again attacked Ukrainian territory with drones and missiles. For the night assault, the Russians used drones of various types and several types of missiles. The Ukrainian Armed Forces reported on the work of air defense systems.
Due to the shelling in the Kyiv region, several trains were significantly delayed. However, Ukrzaliznytsia (Ukrainian Railways) staff have already resolved the issues and restored train services.
In total, mass attacks were recorded in Kyiv, Lutsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, and another eight regions of the country.
In Zaporizhzhia, private homes were damaged in the shelling, and a fire broke out. Russian forces also attacked Cherkasy and the surrounding area: a lyceum was damaged, and firefighters are extinguishing the fires caused by the enemy’s strikes.
