Over the past day, Russian forces attacked five infrastructure facilities of the Naftogaz Group (the state-owned national oil and gas company - ed.) in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions, according to the company’s press service.

As a result of the strikes, equipment damage was recorded, and fires broke out at some facilities. This led to the temporary suspension of part of the production processes.

"There is equipment damage, fires broke out at the facilities. We had to temporarily stop production processes. The intensity of enemy attacks is increasing," said Serhii Koretskyi, head of the board of Naftogaz of Ukraine.

Emergency services and company specialists are currently working on-site to extinguish the fires, eliminate the consequences of the strikes, and take measures to minimize damage and restore infrastructure operations.

Strikes on Naftogaz infrastructure

On April 4, Russian forces twice attacked Naftogaz of Ukraine infrastructure in the Poltava region using drones, causing a fire at one of the facilities.

The following day, Serhii Koretskyi reported that the enemy had been deliberately striking gas infrastructure for two consecutive days, particularly in the Poltava and Sumy regions.

On May 2, Russian forces again attacked Naftogaz facilities. Within two days, infrastructure in at least three regions of Ukraine came under fire.
