On the night of September 12, Russian forces launched a large-scale airstrike on Ukraine. The Ukrainian Air Force tracked and monitored 69 aerial enemy threats, according to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The Russian attack on Ukraine included strikes with ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and combat drones.

Specifically, the Chernihiv region was hit by two Iskander-M ballistic missiles launched from Russia’s Kursk region, as well as a Kh-59/69 guided missile fired from the Bryansk region. Additionally, the enemy launched two Kh-22/32 cruise missiles and 64 Shahed-type strike drones.

Ukraine’s defense forces responded swiftly, destroying 44 of the drones. Three drones returned to Russian territory, while four are currently unaccounted for in Ukraine. No casualties or structural damage have been reported as a result of the battle.

Air defense systems were engaged in the Kyiv, Kherson, Khmelnytskyi, Cherkasy, Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad, Zaporizhzhia, and Poltava regions.

Thanks to the coordinated efforts of Ukrainian defense forces, most of the enemy missiles failed to reach their targets.

Night attack on Ukraine

During the night of September 12, Russia launched an attack on Ukraine using kamikaze drones, triggering air raid alerts across several regions. The Air Force also warned of the potential launch of ballistic missiles.

A massive Shahed drone strike targeted Konotop in the Sumy region, injuring at least 13 people. The city is experiencing significant power outages, and water supply is being provided on a schedule.

Russia also attempted to attack Kyiv, but all drones were shot down before reaching the capital. The Kyiv Military Administration reported a potential ballistic missile threat, though none were used on the city.

Additionally, a fire broke out in a furniture warehouse in the Khmelnytskyi region following a Russian attack.
