Russia attacked Ukraine with missiles and drones overnight: Air defense response
On the night of August 14, the Russian troops launched a massive attack on the territory of Ukraine, according to the commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykola Oleshchuk.
Two Kh-59/69 guided missiles and 23 Shahed drones were launched from the airspace of the Belgorod region of Russia and from the areas of Chauda (Crimea), Yeysk, and Kursk (Russia).
The mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian forces, aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, and electronic warfare systems of the Air Force shot down 17 enemy drones.
Russian drones were destroyed in the Mykolaiv, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Zhytomyr regions.
Night drone attack
The Air Force recorded the launch and movement of enemy drones in the evening of August 13, reporting that Russian drones were moving toward the northern regions of Sumy, Chernihiv, and Kyiv. There were also reports of Shaheds in the Zaporizhzhia region moving toward Dnipro.
An air alert was also announced in the capital, and air defense was operating in the Kyiv region. No hits to residential or critical facilities were reported in Kyiv and the region.
The Chernihiv and Zhytomyr regions were attacked by kamikaze drones on the night of August 14, there was damage to infrastructure.
