US Secretary of State Marco Rubio expressed hope that the suspension of US military aid to Ukraine could be resolved during talks in Saudi Arabia, The Guardian reports.

"I think the notion of the pause in aid, broadly, is something I hope we can resolve. Obviously what happens tomorrow will be key to that," Rubio told reporters.

He also commented on the prospects of a ceasefire in Ukraine, noting Kyiv’s proposal for an air and sea truce.

"I’m not saying that alone is enough but it’s the kind of concession you would need to see in order to end the conflict,” he added.

Negotiations in Saudi Arabia

Negotiations between the Ukrainian and American delegations are scheduled to take place in Saudi Arabia on March 11.

The American delegation will include US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, US Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff, and National Security Advisor Mike Waltz.

The Ukrainian delegation should include at least the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, and the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Rustem Umerov.

It should be noted that President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Saudi Arabia today on a visit, but he will not take part in the talks.
