Rubio explains why Trump's talk with Zelenskyy was shorter than with Putin

The conversation between US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was shorter in duration than his talk with Putin. This is due to a technical issue, according to the US State Department, citing US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
"And the President (Trump - ed.) talked to Zelenskyy yesterday. (the interview with Rubio took place on February 13 - ed.). He talked to him close to 45 minutes," he said in an interview.
According to Rubio, "people saying look how much shorter it was" (compared to the conversation between Trump and Putin, editor's note).
"The difference is with Putin you got to have these translators and it just takes forever back and forth. With Zelenskyy, he speaks fluent English, and they’re able to talk and communicate more directly and it moves a lot faster," noted the US Secretary of State.
Trump’s negotiations with Zelenskyy and Putin
On February 12, US President Donald Trump held talks with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. They discussed, among other things, the war that Russia is waging against Ukraine.
Later that same day, Trump spoke with Zelenskyy. They discussed, in particular, a conversation with Scott Bessent and the preparation of a new agreement on security, economic, and resource cooperation.
It was reported that Trump spent almost one and a half hours speaking with Putin, and about an hour speaking with Zelenskyy.
