Royal family gets ready for Trump’s visit to UK

The British royal family is preparing a special reception for Donald Trump: the monarchy is using soft power to strengthen diplomacy and demonstrate its influence on world leaders, reports Reuters.
The British royal family is getting ready to host Donald Trump with the utmost display of diplomatic influence. Historians note that the monarchy can build connections with world leaders in a way that few others can.
“Is there any leader anywhere in the world who has quite that same attraction to Donald Trump as the British monarch?” said historian and writer Anthony Seldon, emphasizing the monarchy’s unique role in international diplomacy.
Earlier, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer turned to the royal family for support in winning over Trump’s favor regarding the war in Ukraine and trade tariffs.
In the Oval Office of the White House, he received a letter from King Charles offering a second state visit, which immediately sparked positive emotions from the president. “Isn't it beautiful? He's a beautiful man, a wonderful man,” Trump told Starmer.
During the visit, Trump and his wife, Melania, will be welcomed by Prince William and Duchess Kate. The program includes a carriage parade, a state banquet, a military flyover, and fireworks. The British government hopes that the monarchy’s involvement will help strengthen ties with Washington in defense and trade.
Previously, the royal family hosted world leaders including Vladimir Putin, Xi Jinping, and Emmanuel Macron, showcasing its influence and supporting diplomatic initiatives. “Soft power is hard to measure but its value is, I believe, now firmly understood at home and abroad,” noted the king’s treasurer, James Chalmers.
According to Seldon, Trump’s visit is an opportunity for the monarchy to demonstrate its importance and influence on the international stage.
In the context of recent Russian drone and missile attacks, attention has shifted to Poland. Journalists have been interested in how Donald Trump intends to respond to Vladimir Putin’s actions after Russian drones violated Polish airspace. Among the questions raised was the possibility of introducing new restrictive measures against Moscow.
Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski stated that US President Donald Trump must already realize that Russian President Vladimir Putin openly mocks him and has no intention of stopping the war against Ukraine.
