Romania scrambles two F-16s in response to Russian air attack on Ukraine
In Romania, despite the sounds of explosions, no debris from Russian drones has yet been found in the Tulcea district. At the same time, the country's air force raised F-16s to monitor the situation, according to the Romanian Ministry of Defense.
According to the Ministry, on the night of July 23-24, Russian troops carried out a new series of drone attacks on the territory of Ukraine, near the border with Romania, in Tulcea County.
The National Military Command Center informed the country's General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations that it had taken measures to alert the population of Tulcea County. It is worth noting that this city is located near the Odesa region, which was attacked by Russian forces with drones at night.
It is noted that in connection with this situation, two F-16 fighter jets took off for monitoring, which is part of a regular procedure.
At the same time, the Ministry of National Defense has ordered measures to conduct investigations in the vicinity of Plauru to search for possible objects that fell on Romanian territory, a search that will continue throughout the day.
Night attack by Shahed drones
An air alert sounded in the Romanian border region amid another large-scale air attack by Russia on Ukrainian territory using Shahed-type strike drones. One wave of drones targeted Izmail and the Izmail district.
The Russian forces also launched missiles at the suburbs of Kharkiv. At least one person was killed as a result of a strike on a private house.
