The death toll from yesterday's rocket attack in Odesa has risen. Another employee of the State Emergency Service (SES) has died in the hospital from severe injuries, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

"Today (March 16, - Ed.) another employee of the SES died in the hospital from severe injuries, another victim of yesterday's Russian strike on Odesa," announced the head of the MIA, Ihor Klymenko.

Currently, there is information about 21 fatalities from yesterday's strike. More than 70 people were injured, some of whom are in critical condition.

According to the SES, 39-year-old firefighter Vitalii Alymov passed away in the hospital. He suffered severe injuries from the repeated enemy strike.

"The doctors did everything they could, but they couldn't save our colleague," the SES adds.

Russian strike on Odesa, March 15

On March 15 Russian terrorists targeted Odesa with ballistic missiles Iskander-M, launched from the temporarily occupied Crimea. The terrorists' target was civilian infrastructure.

After the arrival of medics and rescuers at the scene, the enemy launched a second attack. Initially, there were reports of dozens injured, as well as fatalities.

As a result of the enemy shelling, a three-story recreational building was destroyed, at least 10 private houses were damaged, as well as a service station, low-pressure gas pipeline, ambulances, and fire-rescue vehicles. Rescue operations are currently underway.
