Robot dog Spot can now speak and lead tours in a British accent
The robot dog Spot from Boston Dynamics has demonstrated new capabilities. After learning to run, jump, and even dance, its level of communication has been significantly improved, according to the American website specializing in computer technology and gadgets, The Verge.
Spot can now speak with a British accent, and this ability was achieved through integration with OpenAI's ChatGPT, the use of dynamics, and modern text-to-speech technology.
These new features of the robot were demonstrated in a short video, where Spot gives a tour of the company's headquarters. In the video, the robot invites viewers to begin the journey, shows a room with charging stations for robots, and takes them to various rooms.
Now, Spot can answer questions and open its mouth, making communication with it more natural. Its personality has also become more diverse, including characters like the "Shakespearean time traveler," "teenager," and "fancy butler."
Additionally, Spot now supports various scenarios and maps of environments using its built-in cameras with object recognition technology.
These new voice capabilities allow robots to easily communicate with humans, opening up new applications for them.
