Russian forces are likely to continue attempting to adapt their attacks using drones and missiles to penetrate Ukrainian air defense systems, according to a report from ISW.

According to ISW analysts, Russian forces will continue to employ combined attacks using various missiles and strike drones to weaken Ukrainian air defenses and regularly exert pressure on Ukrainian anti-aircraft forces.

It is noted that Yurii Ihnat, a representative of the Ukrainian Air Force, previously stated that the recent series of Russian strikes attempted to overload Ukrainian air defenses, and Russian forces continue to launch drones and missiles in various ways, seeking ways to evade air defense systems.

Russian Federation forces have resumed massive strikes on Ukraine

At the end of December of the previous year, after an almost three-month pause, Russian forces resumed combined attacks employing missiles of various types and strike drones.

Indeed, on the morning of January 13, the occupiers launched a mass rocket attack on Ukraine using various types of missiles. The Russians fired cruise missiles from Tu-95MS aircraft, anti-ship missiles Kh-22/32 from Tu-22M3 bombers, and aeroballistic Kinzhals from MiG-31K fighters. In total, 40 air attack means were recorded. Air defense forces successfully intercepted 8 missiles, and more than 20 did not reach their intended targets.

Moreover, earlier, ISW analysts noted that the Ukrainian air defense system is effectively adapting to the strikes by the Russian Federation.
