Reuters reviewed draft final declaration of Peace Summit
In the draft final declaration, participants of the Peace Summit blame Russia's war against Ukraine for causing widespread human suffering and destruction and call for respect for Ukraine's territorial integrity, reports Reuters.
The word war was placed in quotation marks by the agency in its article, likely to emphasize that this is the term used in the document to describe Russia's full-scale aggression against Ukraine, which Russia refers to as a special operation.
The document, dated June 13, also calls for returning control of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant to Kyiv and restoring its access to seaports.
According to 20 Minuten, participants of the peace summit have not yet agreed on a joint declaration. There is a possible scenario where the document could be adopted without the agreement of all participants. There are reportedly a few contentious issues, with disputes arising over specific words in the declaration.
However, the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, stated that there is a clear consensus among participants regarding the joint communiqué of the Peace Summit in Switzerland.
