Residential house in Poland allegedly hit by F-16 missile during Russian drone attack - Media

In the Polish village of Wyryki-Wola, on the night of September 10, when the country was under attack by Russian drones, a residential building was damaged. As it turned out, it was hit by a missile from an F-16, Rzeczpospolita reports.
The outlet recalls that after inspecting the scene, the Lublin prosecutor’s office did not disclose details about how exactly the house in the village of Wyryki-Wola was damaged.
"The object has not yet been identified either as a drone or as its fragments," the prosecutor’s office stated.
For her part, Agnieszka Kępka, spokesperson for the District Prosecutor’s Office in Lublin, noted that at this stage she "cannot say unequivocally what fell on the house." According to her, the site inspections "answered certain questions," but she could not disclose such information.
According to Rzeczpospolita’s sources in key state security structures, the house was struck by a missile launched by a Polish F-16 fighter jet. The missile had been aimed at a Russian drone.
"It was an AIM-120 AMRAAM air-to-air missile from our F-16, which experienced a guidance system malfunction during flight and did not function properly. Fortunately, it did not explode, as the safety devices of the detonator worked. There was a Russian raid, and the Polish side was defending itself," an unnamed source told the outlet.
Thus, a missile about three meters long and weighing over 150 kilograms fell on the house.
Rumors about the damaged house
On the morning of September 10, Polish media reported that as a result of the Russian drone attack, a residential building in Poland was damaged for the first time. The owners of the house survived.
A lieutenant colonel of the Voivodeship Police Headquarters in Lublin noted that it was unclear whether the building had been hit by the drone itself or by its fragments.
