Russian forces attacked a distribution center of the "one-dollar-store" retail chain Aurora in Ukraine. After the initial strike, they launched a second attack while rescuers were already on site, according to a statement by chain co-founder Taras Panasenko.

Outcomes of attack, emergency response

The attack destroyed warehouse facilities.

Firefighting and rescue vehicles operated by the State Emergency Service, which arrived to deal with the aftermath of the initial strike, were also damaged.

"After the initial strike, the enemy launched additional attacks to inflict maximum casualties when emergency crews were already working at the site," Panasenko said.

Despite the repeated attack, there were no casualties.

Personnel and rescuers avoided deaths and injuries thanks to strict adherence to security protocols during both strikes.

Previous attacks on this retailer

As previously reported, on August 22, Russia struck an Aurora distribution center. At the time, the company said its personnel were sheltering in a safe location, while the chain's stores continued to operate as usual.

In addition, on August 20, Russian forces launched massive attacks on the Donetsk region, targeting Sloviansk and Kramatorsk cities. Ten people were injured in the attack, and one of the Russian drones struck an Aurora store directly in Sloviansk, sparking a fire.
