Rescuers in the Chernihiv district discovered and neutralized the warhead of an Iskander-K missile near a residential area, according to the State Emergency Service (DSNS) Telegram channel.

"In the Chernihiv district, DSNS pyrotechnicians neutralized the warhead of a Russian Iskander-K cruise missile that landed on a private property and did not detonate," the DSNS stated.

The danger was particularly high, as residential buildings and a gas station were nearby.

Experts identified the munition and, using specialized equipment, loaded it onto a transport vehicle for safe destruction.

"DSNS urges everyone not to approach missile or drone fragments, or any suspicious objects. If found, call 101," the service emphasized.

Attack on Ukraine on October 10

As a reminder, on the night of October 10, Russian forces carried out a massive attack on Ukraine.

As noted by Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin once again turned to symbolism, carrying out the attack on the anniversary of the first large-scale assault on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure in 2022.

The enemy launched strike drones toward Kyiv. At least 12 people were injured in the attack. The main targets were energy infrastructure facilities.

Due to damage to energy facilities in several regions, emergency power outage schedules are in effect to maintain the operation of the energy system.
