Renault introduces third generation of Duster crossover
The company Renault has officially presented the third generation of the affordable crossover called Dacia Duster, according to the Daria press media.
The new generation crossover measures 4.34 meters in length, 1.81 meters in width, and 1.66 meters in height. It is reported that the new model is 14 cm longer than the previous generation. Unlike its predecessor, the new Duster features a 7-inch digital instrument panel and a 10.1-inch infotainment system display. These features are available even in the base configuration of the car.
The third-generation Duster is based on the modular CMF-B platform, which now serves as the foundation for the entire Dacia model range. It's noteworthy that the crossover, for the first time in three generations, features hybrid powertrains but has discontinued the diesel engine. The most powerful variant is named Hybrid 140. Under its hood, there's a naturally aspirated 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine producing 140 horsepower, coupled with pairs of electric motors. The transmission and a 1.2 kWh capacity battery are also part of the setup.
As a simpler alternative, Dacia offers the TCe 130 version with a 1.2-liter three-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine combined with a small electric motor and a smaller 0.9 kWh battery. This Duster generates 128 horsepower. This hybrid is exclusively paired with a six-speed manual transmission, transmitting power to the front or all four wheels.
In the base configuration, the Duster is equipped with a 1.0-liter turbocharged engine TCe 100 Bi-Fuel, which can operate on both gasoline and liquefied gas. With two fuel tanks of 50 liters each, the car has a combined range of over 1300 km. The new crossover will be manufactured at the company's plant in Pitesti, Romania.
