A drone was discovered after crashing into a field near the city of Bartoszyce in Poland, close to the border with Russia's Kaliningrad region, reports RMF24.

The Polish military police said preliminary information indicates that the drone was military reconnaissance equipment used for surveillance and was not intended for combat operations.

Investigators reportedly found Cyrillic inscriptions on the drone body. It was also equipped with several cameras.

According to unofficial information from RMF FM, the drone likely arrived from Russia's Kaliningrad region. Given its limited flight range, it could not have come from Ukraine.

Russian drones enter neighboring countries

Earlier, on the night of May 7, several drones from Russia entered Latvian airspace. One of them struck an oil reservoir in the city of Rēzekne.

In late April, a drone also crashed onto the roof of an apartment building in central Chișinău. Moldovan police evacuated residents from the upper floors and sent the object for examination.

On April 25, during a massive Russian attack on Ukraine, drone debris fell in Romania, damaging a residential annex and a power line.

Earlier, on April 17, a Russian drone also entered the Romanian airspace during a nighttime attack on Ukrainian cities.

Amid ongoing provocations, Romania has been urgently strengthening its border defenses. In particular, the country recently tested the new AI-powered Merops drone interception system, which is expected to help protect its skies from Shaheds soon.
