Railway disaster in Slovakia: Interior Ministry reveals preliminary cause of incident

The collision of high-speed trains in Slovakia may have been caused by human error, according to Interior Minister Matúš Šutaj-Eštok, reads Aktuality.
The minister noted that, according to preliminary information, the crash may have been caused by human error rather than a system malfunction.
“It appears that one of the train drivers made a mistake and failed to give way. However, this is only a preliminary version,” he said.
In connection with the incident, the prosecutor’s office has launched a criminal investigation.
According to the Slovak railway company ZSSK, one of the four staff members who were on board the colliding trains sustained injuries.
