Europe will not be able to relax even if a peace agreement is reached in Russia's war against Ukraine. Russia's Vladimir Putin will continue to provoke the West, according to German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius.

According to the German Defense Minister, the Trump administration is trying to conclude a quick peace deal between Russia and Ukraine. And to Europe, “the United States is offering to provide broad security for this peace.

However, even if a peace agreement is reached, Europe will not be able to relax, Pistorius believes. After all, Moscow will continue to provoke European countries, and Europeans will have to ensure peace.

Pistorius said on the eve of the event that Putin would continue to attack them in a hybrid way and would continue to pose a threat to their continent.

Therefore, according to the minister, Europe must protect itself with a strong innovation base of military technologies. The war in Ukraine has shown the importance of technological innovation in modern warfare.

Pistorius emphasized that peace in Europe could only be ensured from a position of strength.

The head of the German Defense Ministry named 4 main areas of military technologies of the future: artificial intelligence, drones, quantum technologies, and cybersecurity.

At the same time, Pistorius emphasized that no peace agreement can be reached without discussions with Ukraine. And any negotiations without the inclusion of Europe will not work either, the minister is sure.

The head of European diplomacy, Kaja Kallas, also sided with Ukraine amid numerous statements about a possible peace deal between Ukraine and Russia. She stated that Europe would support Ukraine if it did not agree to the deal concluded between the United States and Russia. According to Kallas, any quick fix would be bad and would not work.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz is also convinced that an agreement to end Russia's full-scale war should not be imposed on Ukraine. At the same time, the head of the German government emphasized that no decision on peace can be made without the participation of the United States.
