The "parade ceasefire" initiated by Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, as expected, turned out to be a farce. The enemy continues to attack along the entire front line, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Ukraine, Andrii Sybiha, states.

"I just spoke with Ukraine's military command, who provided information about the frontline situation. Predictably, Putin's "Parade ceasefire" proves to be a farce. According to our military data, despite Putin's statements, Russian forces continue to attack across the entire frontline," Sybiha stated.

As the head of the MFA noted, from midnight to noon, the Russian Federation violated the ceasefire regime 734 times and carried out 63 assault operations. Among them:

  • 23 assault operations are ongoing;

  • 586 shellings were carried out against the positions of Ukrainian fighters. 464 of them with the use of heavy weapons;

  • 176 strikes using drones;

  • 10 airstrikes with the use of 16 guided aerial bombs (KAB).

Ukraine, as Sybiha noted, is responding to the shellings and is sharing information about Russia’s violations of the ceasefire regime with the United States of America, the European Union, partners, and international organizations.

"We will not let Putin fool anyone when he does not even keep his own word. Ukraine remains ready for at least 30-day full ceasefire and confidence-building measures, which will enable peace negotiations and the real path to a fair and sustainable peace," he added.

The head of the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD), Andrii Kovalenko, noted that the enemy continues to attack at the front and is trying to pass off the absence of unmanned aerial vehicles of the Shahed type in the air as a ceasefire.

Russian ceasefire

In recent months, the United States has held separate negotiations with Ukraine and Russia, trying to find ways to end the war. Washington proposed a full ceasefire to Kyiv, and the Ukrainian side immediately supported this initiative. Moscow, in turn, began to put forward its conditions.

After that, Russia repeatedly announced a so-called ceasefire, but each time violated them. Recently, Putin announced another humanitarian ceasefire from May 8 to 11. Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine is ready to support a ceasefire if Russia also adheres to the terms.
