Russian troops attacked a village in the Kherson region with a strike drone, killing a local resident. The incident occurred after Vladimir Putin had declared a so-called Easter ceasefire, according to the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin.

According to him, on Saturday evening, the Russian army killed another resident of the Kherson region.

“It has been confirmed that a man born in 1967 was killed yesterday in a combined enemy strike on Stanislav. He sustained injuries incompatible with life. My condolences to his family and loved ones,” Prokudin wrote.

Putin’s Easter ceasefire

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin unilaterally announced a ceasefire, declaring a 30-hour truce from 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 19, until midnight between Sunday and Monday, April 21.

Despite the announcement, Russian troops continued to shell Kherson and the surrounding region using FPV drones. Around 7:00 p.m., shortly after the so-called “truce” came into effect, one of the drones struck the village of Stanislav.

Earlier, a UAV also hit a car in the village of Urozhaine, and around 6:00 p.m., a group of drones damaged an apartment building in Kherson.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said following the night’s events that the Russian army was merely simulating a ceasefire.
