US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed a memorandum that could potentially lead to a future peace deal, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said during a press briefing.

According to Zelenskyy, Trump and Putin discussed a memorandum that could be adopted in a bilateral format. This memorandum, he said, "could eventually lead to a roadmap toward ending the war and a peace agreement."

"This is a memorandum that would be supported by both or all involved countries, and it includes provisions for a ceasefire. As of now, I don't have any confirmed details. In any case, if Russia proposes such a memorandum — and I don't think it would be a secret — this kind of information always ends up in the public domain," Zelenskyy said.

According to him, once Ukraine receives the relevant signals from Russia, it will be able to form its own vision of such a memorandum.

What Putin said

Russian President Vladimir Putin, following his conversation with US President Donald Trump, stated that the Russian Federation is ready to work with the Ukrainian side on a memorandum concerning a possible future peace agreement.

"We agreed with the US President that Russia will propose and is ready to work with the Ukrainian side on a memorandum regarding a possible future peace agreement, outlining a number of key positions," Putin said.
