The press secretary of the Russian leader, Vladimir Putin, cynically commented on the statement of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy regarding his unwillingness to go to Moscow for negotiations, according to Russian media.

"Putin invited Zelenskyy to Moscow to talk, not to capitulate," stated Peskov to journalists at the Eastern Economic Forum.

Also, he added that “in the Ukrainian settlement, there is visible light at the end of the tunnel, but the timing of completion cannot be guessed.”

What is known about the invitation of Putin and the reaction of Zelenskyy

As is known, Zelenskyy responded to Putin to his proposal to the Ukrainian president to come to Moscow for negotiations. The head of state, with his response, gave the impression that he is not going to agree to the conditions of the Russian dictator.

"Our American partners conveyed to us that Putin invited me to Moscow. I consider that when you want the meeting not to happen, you need to invite me to Moscow," said Zelenskyy.

At the same time, he noted that if Russia began to talk about a meeting, then this would not be bad.

On 3 September, Putin stated that he “does not exclude” a meeting with the Ukrainian president, and added a rhetorical question, “Is there sense in this?”

"If Zelenskyy wants, if he is ready, let him come to Moscow, we will meet,” said the head of the Kremlin.

Negotiations between Ukraine and the Russia

We remind that about the possibility of organization of negotiations between the leaders of the Russian Federation and Ukraine, they began to actively speak on 18 August, after the meeting of Zelenskyy in Washington with the head of the White House, Donald Trump, when the president came to the Oval Office with European leaders.

The Ukrainian side showed openness and readiness for negotiations, but in Moscow, they find reasons so that the meeting of Putin with Zelenskyy does not take place.

For example, the head of the Russian MFA, Sergey Lavrov, stated that negotiations with Putin require thorough preparation.

Zelenskyy stated from his side that "Russians are doing everything so that there will be no meeting." Also, the president emphasized that it is necessary to force the Russian Federation to diplomacy.

We note that Trump, after the conversation with Zelenskyy on 4 September, intends to talk with the head of the Kremlin and, most likely, to discuss the necessity of negotiations with Kyiv.

Also, the leader of the USA added that the war of Russia against Ukraine became for him the most difficult task, "despite his success in settling other conflicts between countries.
