Chief of the Russian General Staff Valery Gerasimov prepared a map of the Donetsk region for Russian leader Vladimir Putin to showcase successes ahead of a meeting with US President Donald Trump, Head of the Center for Countering Disinformation of the National Security and Defense Council, Andriy Kovalenko, reports.

According to Kovalenko, Gerasimov prepared the map of the Donetsk region for Putin on the eve of his meeting with Donald Trump, marking the routes of sabotage and reconnaissance groups.

“The Russians’ plan is to convince the United States that the advance of sabotage and reconnaissance groups demonstrates the Russian army’s ability to collapse the front and make a rapid breakthrough in the Donetsk direction, as if everything has already been decided in their favor,”the Head of the Center for Countering Disinformation of the National Security and Defense Council explained.

However, as Kovalenko noted, no one plans to clarify where sabotage and reconnaissance groups consist of 3–5 people, and where the issue is actually about securing and holding sections of the front line.

In reality, the situation at the front is much more complicated.

As the Head of the Center for Countering Disinformation reminded, the Russians have no real ability to quickly reach Kramatorsk and Sloviansk, despite their attempts to present it that way.

Moreover, they have still not occupied Pokrovsk and Kostyantynivka, which, according to their plans, should have been under control back in 2024.

Situation on front

Fighting between the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the enemy continues in the Donetsk region.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in this morning’s update, Ukrainian defenders stopped 53 assault and offensive actions of the aggressor in the Pokrovsk direction.

According to Viktor Trehubov, Spokesperson of the Operational-Strategic Grouping of Forces Dnipro in the Kramatorsk direction, Ukraine’s Defense Forces are holding back active assaults and enemy disinformation attempts, despite Russian efforts to advance in the area of Chasiv Yar.

Recently, the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Army, Oleksandr Syrskyi, ordered the allocation of additional forces and resources to strengthen defensive resilience.

Meanwhile, the Azov Brigade reported significant enemy losses in the Pokrovsk direction. In particular, over the course of two days, the Russians lost 151 soldiers, and more than 70 of them were wounded.
