Over the past day, 149 combat clashes took place on the front line, with the most intense fighting recorded in several key areas, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"The 1,269th day of large-scale Russian armed aggression against Ukraine has begun. In total, 149 combat clashes were recorded yesterday," the General Staff reported.

According to the Ukrainian military, Russia launched two missile strikes with two missiles and 81 air strikes, dropping 162 guided bombs on the positions of Ukrainian units and populated areas.

In addition, Russia carried out 5,839 shellings, 88 of which were from multiple launch rocket systems, and used 5,593 kamikaze drones to strike targets.

The aggressor carried out air strikes, in particular on the following populated areas:

  • Boiaro-Lezhachi in the Sumy region;
  • Novodanylivka, Orikhiv in Zaporizhzhia region;
  • Lvove in the Kherson region.

Over the past day, the aviation, missile forces, and artillery of the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck 2 areas of Russian personnel concentration, 7 artillery systems, a command post, 2 ammunition depots, an electronic warfare station, and an air defense system.

Directions

5 combat engagements took place in the North-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions. Russia carried out 12 air strikes, dropped 28 guided bombs, and carried out 288 shellings, including 7 from multiple launch rocket systems.

In the South-Slobozhanskyi direction, Russia carried out an offensive action near Hlyboky since the beginning of the day.

In the Kupiansk direction, Russia conducted 5 attacks over the past day. Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled Russian assaults in the areas of the settlements of Kupiansk, Holubivka, and Zahryzove.

Russia attacked 20 times in the Lyman direction. It attempted to advance in the areas of the settlements of Ridkodub, Hrekivka, Myrne, Shandryholove, Kolodiazi, and Karpivka.

In the Siversk direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled 9 Russian attacks over the past day. Russian units attempted to advance in the areas of Hryhorivka, Verkhniokamianske, Vyimka, and in the direction of Serebrianka.

In the Kramatorsk direction, 2 combat clashes were recorded in the area of Bila Hora.

In the Toretsk direction, Russia carried out 5 attacks in the areas of Toretsk, Rusyn Yar, Oleksandr-Kalynove, and in the direction of Pleshchiivka.

In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders stopped 53 assaults and offensive actions in the areas of Popiv Yar, Poltavka, Zolotyi Kolodiaz, Nykanorivka, Maiak, Volodymyrivka, Shakhove, Rubizhne, Vilne, Novoekonomichne, Myroliubivka, Mykolaivka, Rodynske, Chervonyi Lyman, Promin, Kotlyne, Lysivka, Sukhyi Yar, Pokrovsk, Zvirove, Udachne, Novoukrainka, and in the direction of Balahan.

In the Novopavlivka direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 21 Russian attacks in the areas of the settlements of Tovste, Oleksandrohrad, Maliivka, Zelene Pole, Voskresenka, Temyrivka, Novodarivka, Zelenyi Hai, Myrne, and in the direction of Filia, Zaporizhzhia, and Komyshuvakha.

Over the past day, Russia did not conduct any offensive operations in the Huliaipole and Orikhiv directions.

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled 6 Russian offensive operations.

In the Volyn and Polissia directions, no signs of the formation of Russian offensive groups were detected.

Russian losses

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrainian soldiers are inflicting significant losses on the occupying forces in terms of manpower and equipment and are actively undermining Russia's offensive potential in the rear.

In total, the Russian losses over the past day amounted to 940 troops. Russia also lost 2 tanks, 3 armored combat vehicles, 40 artillery systems, a multiple launch rocket system, an aircraft, 147 tactical-level unmanned aerial vehicles, 140 vehicles, and three units of special equipment.

According to the Institute for the Study of War, as of today, August 15, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have advanced on one of the important sections of the front.
