Russian President Vladimir Putin believes that Russia has an air defense system that Ukraine "does not have," the Kremlin leader said this during a meeting with heads of news agencies.
According to Putin, "Western sponsors" supply Ukraine with a large number of drones, including long-range ones.
"Some of them, unfortunately for us, break through, but Russia has an air defense system. Yes, we need to improve it. Yes, we need to strengthen it, and we will do that. But Ukraine does not have such a system at all. There are only separate elements, but there is no system," the President boasted.
Successful Ukrainian strikes
Just yesterday, on June 3, Ukrainian defenders attacked St. Petersburg with drones.
One of the targets was the St. Petersburg Oil Terminal, the largest oil handling complex in northwestern Russia and of strategic importance for Russia’s security.
The facility covers an area of 37 hectares and includes 21 fuel storage tanks, with a throughput capacity of 12.5 million tons per year. As a result of the strikes, a large-scale fire broke out at the site, which intensified by morning due to new explosions.
Ukrainian forces also targeted the Boykiy corvette, which is capable of carrying missile armament.
