US President Donald Trump could hold a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the near future, states Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov.
"Soon," he said in response to journalists' questions.
Peskov also noted that the Russian president is always glad to receive visits from US negotiators Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.
He added that the timing of a possible visit by American negotiators to Moscow is not yet known, but noted that it can be expected.
Axios reported that Witkoff and Kushner could soon visit Moscow again to meet with the Russian president and discuss ending the war.
Ukrainian negotiators are currently in the US, where they will discuss a new comprehensive plan with the American side to help break the deadlock in ending the war with Russia.
Russia cynically rejected the possibility of ending the war against Ukraine through diplomatic means, even with US mediation.
