Russian President Vladimir Putin has threatened Ukraine with an escalation of the war amid long-range Ukrainian strikes and fuel shortages in Russia, the Kremlin leader made the statement at the Everything for Victory People's Front forum, according to TASS.

Putin threatens Ukraine

The Russian President cynically claimed that Russia's response to Ukrainian strikes on Russian territory would be "symmetrical" and several times more powerful.

"The enemy will feel it on an increasing scale," he arrogantly said.

Russia acknowledges fuel problems

At the same time, Putin complained that Ukraine's Armed Forces are creating certain problems with fuel supplies in Russia. However, he claimed that the situation would gradually improve.

Later, the Kremlin leader said that Russia is allegedly working on a system to supply fuel products to Crimea.

"It will be very difficult for the enemy to reach it," he said.

Earlier, it emerged that the Russian military command in southern Ukraine had restricted fuel supplies for mobile fire groups and air defense units. This was reported by the Atesh resistance movement.

Gasoline production in Russia currently covers only about 65% of seasonal demand. The country's largest oil refineries have been forced to halt operations due to Ukrainian drone strikes.

Russian officials have finally begun speaking openly about a fuel crisis. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexandr Novak identified the cause as drone strikes on oil refineries.
