Vladimir Putin officially acknowledged the involvement of North Korean military personnel in Russia's war against Ukraine, according to the press conference at the Kremlin.

The head of the Kremlin expressed gratitude to the leaders of 13 countries that sent units of their national armed forces to participate in the parade on Red Square.

Putin noted that he was pleased to personally thank the commanders of the Korean People's Army for their participation in combat actions on the front lines of the war against Ukraine.

"I was glad to convey the warmest words to the soldiers and commanders of the DPRK special forces units, who, together with our fighters, professionally and voluntarily carried out tasks during the liberation of the border areas of the Kursk region from the formations of the Kyiv regime," said Putin.

He emphasized that the North Korean military "showed courage and heroism, acted extremely professionally, and demonstrated excellent training and preparation."
