Psycho-neurological residential center in Kharkiv region caught fire, casualties reported
A fire broke out in a psychiatric facility in the city of Pivdenne in the Kharkiv region. As a result of the incident, six people were injured, reports the State Emergency Service (SES).
The fire broke out at 9:44 p.m. Kyiv time on Saturday, January 4, in a two-story building of a psychiatric facility in the city of Pivdenne.
A mattress and belongings in a room on the second floor were burning, with the affected area covering 2 square meters.
"During the fire, six people were injured, including one man who sustained 90% burns on his body, and five others who suffered from carbon monoxide poisoning. All the injured were hospitalized," the report states.
The fire was localized by 10:10 p.m. Kyiv time and later extinguished. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
