The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved a plan for getting through the winter. It specifically includes measures to protect energy facilities, according to Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko on Telegram.

According to her, the government has endorsed a unified roadmap of actions for all ministries and agencies.

"The plan includes the protection of energy facilities, securing a reserve of equipment and materials, and a rapid response plan. Anti-crisis headquarters will operate continuously in the regions to prevent blackouts,” Svyrydenko noted.

The prime minister explained that this plan will help ensure coordinated actions to prevent and quickly eliminate the consequences of Russian attacks.

Attacks on the energy sector

Russia has intensified its terror against peaceful Ukrainians amid the cold weather, deliberately targeting Ukrainian energy facilities.

In particular, today, October 8, after another Russian strike, residents of the Sumy district were left without power.

The Ministry of Energy noted that due to enemy attacks, the situation with the electricity supply remains difficult. Ukrainians are therefore urged to conserve electricity, especially during peak hours in the morning and evening.

Also today, as a result of Russian strikes on the energy infrastructure, more than 4,000 consumers in the Chernihiv region were left without power.
