'Professionals' tied to Mi-8 pilot's killing, Spanish media
Russian pilot Maksim Kuzminov, who in the summer of 2023 stole a Mi-8 helicopter and fled to Ukraine, was killed by " a professional group", reports EL ESPAÑOL.
According to the article, Kuzminov was killed by a "professional group" that was monitoring his routine in Alicante with the help of surveillance cameras.
From the beginning, however, the local police investigated the killing in Alicante as a settlement of scores. After all, the victim received half a dozen bullets on the garage ramp of the residential area. Shortly after, that car was found burned several kilometers away, in the town of El Campello.
At the same time, the documents found on the deceased did not correspond to Kuzminov's identity, as they indicated that they belonged to a 33-year-old citizen of Ukraine. However, the Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine (GUR) confirmed that the deceased was Kuzminov.
On February 19, information began to appear in the Spanish media that the body of a Ukrainian was found on February 13 in the municipality of Villajoyosa.
Later, GUR confirmed that the deceased was a pilot from the Russian Federation Maksim Kuzminov, who in the summer of 2023 had stolen a Mi-8 helicopter and fled to Ukraine.

On August 23, 2023, information appeared on the network that a Russian Mi-8 helicopter landed on the territory of Ukraine.
Later it became known that Ukrainian intelligence conducted a unique special operation during which they recruited Russian pilot Maksim Kuzminov.
He overtook the Mi-8 helicopter from the Kursk region to the Kharkiv region. Two crew members who were in the helicopter with Kuzminov were eliminated.
The stolen helicopter was handed over to Ukrainian defenders.
