Heir to the British throne, Prince William, stated in an interview that he intends to make changes to the monarchy's functioning, while emphasizing the importance of preserving its traditions. He noted that the changes would be moderate but necessary for modern society, according to The Guardian.
The Prince of Wales stated, “That’s the bit that excites me, is the idea of being able to bring some change. . Not overly radical change, but changes that I think that need to happen.”
He emphasized that he wants to modernize approaches while preserving the historical traditions that play a significant role in royal life.

The heir to the throne noted that traditions sometimes need to be reassessed: “But, there’s also points where you look at tradition and go: ‘Is that still fit for purpose today? Is that still the right thing to do? Are we still doing and having the most impact we could be having?”

The Prince stressed that he wants to create a world where his eldest son, Prince George, can be proud of what the family does. He added that his children do not use mobile phones to avoid the media pressure that he and his brother Harry faced.

When asked about preparing for the crown, Prince William replied: “It’s not something I wake up in the morning and think about, because to me, being authentic and being myself and being genuine is what drives me.” He emphasized the importance of managing duties rather than being ruled by them.
