According to a source within the Office of the President, a decision to limit the foreign travel of officials and deputies is being elaborated. This comes in the wake of a series of scandals involving Ukrainian officials and deputies traveling abroad.

Discussions are underway today on how to implement the travel restrictions.

"Considering the issues that have already arisen with officials traveling abroad, it is evident that the decision is being seriously considered," the source added.

However, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine stated that the border crossing rules remain open.

"The border control measures are carried out in accordance with the current legislation, including the rules set during the state of war, as outlined in Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 57," said Andriy Demchenko, spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service.

Meanwhile, MP Oleksiy Honcharenko stated on his Telegram channel that instructions have been sent to border checkpoints to prohibit officials and deputies from leaving Ukraine.

"All those attempting to cross the border are being stopped, and the Office of the President will make individual decisions for each case," he noted.

Aristov scandal

Journalists revealed that in July of this year, Yurii Aristov, the Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada's Committee on National Security, Defense, and Intelligence, unlawfully traveled to the Maldives and stayed in a 5-star hotel with his family. The cost of the stay there was at least 100,000 hryvnias per day for two people.

Following the incident, law enforcement officers conducted searches at the MP's residence and found a foreign passport with stamps indicating his presence in the Maldives. An investigation has been launched into this matter.

Today, the Ukrainian Parliament deprived Aristov of his deputy mandate.
