On the morning of July 14, the Russian-installed authorities in occupied Sevastopol said a Ukrainian attack had targeted the city's energy infrastructure, leaving parts of the city without electricity, according to Russian-installed Sevastopol governor Mikhail Razvozhayev and the monitoring Telegram channel Krymskyi Veter.

According to the Kremlin-backed official, part of the city was left without electricity following the attack by Ukraine's Defense Forces.

He also announced that a special regime had been introduced at energy infrastructure facilities. However, Razvozhayev did not explain what exactly this means.

In light of the recent events, the Russian-installed governor of Sevastopol urged residents to conserve their phone batteries, use their devices only for emergency communication, and switch off as many electrical appliances as possible to avoid overloading the power grid.

The Telegram channel Krymskyi Veter concluded that the power problems in Sevastopol may have been caused by a strike on the Balaklava Thermal Power Plant.

This version is supported by several facts:

  • A jet-powered drone or missile was seen flying toward the power plant;

  • At around 4:10 a.m., an explosion occurred there, followed by a white cloud of smoke;

  • The strike was accompanied by a bright flash, after which the power went out;

  • The strike likely hit equipment responsible for supplying or releasing steam;

  • The white cloud that rose above the power plant was steam;

  • Buses on routes 91 and 103, which normally pass the power plant, were temporarily rerouted, indicating that Russian forces have something to hide;

  • The Russian-installed governor of Sevastopol confirmed an attack on the city's energy infrastructure.

Earlier, Robert Brovdi (call sign Madyar), commander of Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces, explained for the first time why Ukraine's Defense Forces are no longer attacking the Crimean Bridge.

New successful strikes in Crimea carried out by the Unmanned Systems Forces were also reported.

In addition, it became known that Ukrainian forces hit another 15 Russian vessels within a single day.
