In Germany, another act of sabotage is under investigation. This time at the NATO airbase in the city of Geilenkirchen, where drinking water may also have been contaminated, Süddeutsche Zeitung reports.

According to the news agency, the airbase in Geilenkirchen was closed due to suspicions of sabotage. NATO reconnaissance aircraft are based there.

It is noted that the base has its own water supply, so local residents were not affected.

An investigation is currently underway, and there is information about one person being detained.

Not the first sabotage in Germany

It should be noted that today Spiegel reported that the Bundeswehr barracks in Cologne-Wahn, Germany, were completely sealed off. Authorities are currently investigating a possible act of sabotage.

There is a possibility that the tap water in the barracks may be contaminated, leading to orders for soldiers and staff not to consume it. Residents of the area are not at risk since the military has a separate water supply system.

The media outlet also adds that unauthorized entry into the barracks is possible.
