Germany investigates possible sabotage against Bundeswehr, media
The Bundeswehr barracks in Köln-Wahn, Germany, were completely sealed. Law enforcement is now investigating a possible sabotage, reports Spiegel.
The tap water in the barracks may be contaminated. Soldiers and staff have been ordered not to use it. Residents of the area are not in danger, as the military has a separate water supply system.
It is possible that outsiders entered the barracks, the media says.
“The barracks in Köln-Wahn are home to several command bodies, as well as military and civilian offices of the Bundeswehr. The aviation operations of the Federal Ministry of Defense are also based here, as the barracks are located directly next to Köln Airport. In total, 4,300 military personnel and 1,200 civilian employees are deployed there,” Spiegel said.
