Possible elections in Ukraine next year, Zelenskyy revealed
The elections will take place in Ukraine next year if the war ends and peace is achieved, said President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in an interview with BBC.
"It's a global question. If we win, then there will be elections. It means there will be no wartime, no war," Zelenskyy announced.
According to Ukrainian legislation, the head of state emphasized that elections should occur during peacetime without war.
"I want peace to come next year and life to be as it was before the war," he added.
Elections in Ukraine
Ukraine's eighth elections should be held next year when the new president will be elected.
Parliamentary elections should have occurred in October this year, and presidential elections were scheduled for spring 2024. However, according to the legislation, the state of martial law prohibits the conduct of elections.
