US military aid to Ukraine could resume following an upcoming meeting between US President’s Special Envoy Keith Kellogg and Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, according to Politico.

Sources say the US intends to restart deliveries of engineering equipment and armored vehicles to Ukraine. However, no specific timeline has been provided yet.

US President Donald Trump confirmed that his country is ready to send defensive weapons to Ukraine, though he did not elaborate on the exact types of equipment being considered.

According to the publication, Kellogg and Umerov are scheduled to meet in Rome at a conference dedicated to aid for Ukraine. Following this, a meeting is expected to take place in Kyiv.

US suspension of aid to Ukraine

On July 2, reports emerged that the US had paused shipments of air defense missiles and other ammunition to Ukraine. This prompted Kyiv to initiate a phone call with US officials to clarify the situation.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy responded to the concerns, stating that all details regarding the deliveries are being clarified.

Amid these developments, Head of the Office of the President Andrii Yermak called Brian Mast, chairman of the US House Foreign Affairs Committee, to discuss defense support for Ukraine.
