Polish President says he has different views with Lithuania’s leader on Ukraine’s EU bid

Polish President Karol Nawrocki said that he and Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda hold different views on Ukraine’s accession to the EU, LRT reports.
Nauseda has repeatedly stated that January 1, 2030, should be set as the date for Ukraine’s entry into the EU.
At the same time, Nawrocki noted that he has a more moderate position on this issue.
"The President and I have somewhat different views on Ukraine’s integration into the EU. Our discussions will continue on another level… I do not rule out the possibility of full solidarity with Ukraine, but these are issues that concern only Poland and Ukraine," Nawrocki said during a visit to Lithuania.
Veto on social aid for Ukrainians
Earlier, Polish President Karol Nawrocki vetoed a bill directly related to Ukrainians. It provided for social support for citizens of Ukraine.
According to Nawrocki, the 800 Plus program and free medical services should only be available to Ukrainians who officially work in Poland.
Nawrocki also explained that he wants Poles to remain at the center of state policy.
Earlier, Nawrocki also opposed Ukraine’s entry into NATO while it remains at war with Russia.
