Polish General Staff warns about Russian information and psychological operations against Ukraine

In Poland, intensive information and psychological operations against Ukraine have been recorded. They are aimed at spreading fear in Polish society and creating a sense of threat due to the presence of Ukrainian refugees in the country, according to the General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces on Twitter (X).
"Operations are being carried out that destroy positive Polish-Ukrainian emotional relations and incite anti-Ukrainian sentiments in Poland," the material reads.
Such actions are being recorded on portals and accounts of individuals who spread hatred toward Ukraine. The rise in anti-Ukrainian behavior is also occurring in cities hosting weapons and aid transfer points for Kyiv.
The Polish General Staff emphasized that the goal of these Russian actions is "to sow fear and a sense of threat in Polish society due to the presence of Ukrainians in Poland."
"In the Russian information space, this allows them to form the message that the attack on Ukraine is also in support of Poles seeking revenge for Volhynia, which supposedly is meant to improve attitudes toward Russia in Poland. Russia’s actions portray Ukrainians as a greater threat to Poland than Russia itself," the post reads.
The General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces called on the country’s citizens not to succumb to emotions, as they are provoked by stimuli that have no real basis.
"Sabotage actions belong to the realm of coordinated measures by Russian services and have nothing to do with the intentions or planned actions of the entire Ukrainian nation," it noted.
Additionally, the Polish General Staff stressed the need to understand the obvious distinction between the executioner and the victim.
"The aggressor is in the east, and that is Russia. Separating Poland from Ukraine will make it easier for Russia to wage war. Any actions that undermine support for Ukraine support Russian aggression," the post reads.
In March, the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation, Andriy Kovalenko, stated that Russia is increasing information-psychological operation (IPSO) units to influence Western countries.
Moreover, Defense Intelligence representative Andrii Yusov said that even after the end of active hostilities against Ukraine, Russia will continue its information and psychological operations.
