Polish FM: Only China can put Putin in his place

China could help end Russia’s war against Ukraine and put Russian dictator Vladimir Putin in his place, according to Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski for Tagesspiegel.
"The country that could end the war and put Putin in his place is China," the Polish foreign minister said.
In Sikorski’s view, Russia is "an economic vassal of China."
“If China threatened a trade embargo, Russia would be forced to comply,” the Polish minister said.
Sikorski noted that Putin is playing for time and remains determined to subjugate all of Ukraine. According to the Polish foreign minister, the Russian dictator still believes he can win the war in Ukraine.
China’s stance on the war
China claims to hold a neutral position on Russia’s war against Ukraine. However, Beijing continues to deepen its economic cooperation with Moscow. Chinese companies are also still supplying Russia with dual-use goods.
In April, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that there is information confirming that China is supplying weapons to Russia.
Zelenskyy also said that Ukraine is aware of more than 150 Chinese nationals participating in the war on Russia’s side. Earlier, two Chinese citizens fighting for Russian forces were captured by Ukrainian troops.
