Polish farmers unblock all border crossings with Ukraine, but there's catch
Polish farmers have unblocked the Rava-Ruska checkpoint on the border with Ukraine for trucks to pass through. However, the ban on the entry of vehicles transporting grain crops will remain in place, according to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and its spokesperson, Andrii Demchenko.
Polish farmers have stopped blocking the movement of trucks in front of the Hrebenne-Rava-Ruska checkpoint. Registration and passage across the border in both directions are carried out as usual.
At the same time, trucks transporting grain crops will not be allowed to enter Poland. This type of cargo can only be transported through Poland in transit mode.
“This is the only direction that remained blocked as of this morning. And with its unblocking, all directions on the border with Poland are now unblocked,” says Demchenko.
He notes that as of 10 a.m., more intensive truck traffic was observed through Rava-Ruska in both directions.
Ukrainian border blockade by Polish farmers
Since the end of last year, Polish farmers have been blocking truck traffic on the border with Ukraine. At the beginning of this year, the situation was temporarily stabilized, but in February, the protests and blockade resumed.
The day before, it was reported that Polish farmers planned to resume truck traffic at one of the blocked checkpoints on the border with Ukraine. It is about the checkpoint Rava-Ruska - Hrebenne.
Also on April 20, Polish farmers unblocked two checkpoints - Shehyni-Medyka and Krakivets-Korchova - on the border with Ukraine.
