In Amsterdam, the police have launched an investigation into attacks on Israeli football fans on the night of November 8. Law enforcement officers have arrested over 60 people, according to The Guardian and Newsru.co.il.

The Dutch police announced the start of a "major investigation into multiple violent incidents" after Israeli football fans were attacked by anti-Semites.

Law enforcement specified that as a result of the incidents, five victims were taken to hospitals. Meanwhile, 62 people have been arrested.

According to the police, there is no evidence of "kidnapping or hostage-takings," but the police "probing reports."

At the same time, a plane with Israeli fans has already landed at Israel's Ben Gurion Airport.

Head of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs met with the head of the Ministry of Justice of the Netherlands

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar has already held a meeting with the Dutch Minister of Justice and Security, David van Weel.

During the meeting, Saar emphasized the need for a thorough investigation of all incidents to punish those involved in the attacks.

According to the Israeli minister, his country's police are ready to assist their colleagues in Amsterdam in gathering testimonies from Israelis who were attacked by antisemites.

The Dutch Minister of Justice supported this proposal.

Attacks on football fans

On November 7, the Amsterdam football club Ajax played against Maccabi from Tel Aviv as part of the UEFA Europa League.

Antisemitic groups attacked Israeli fans who had come to Amsterdam to support Maccabi. Israel sent planes to the Netherlands to evacuate the fans.
