On Monday, March 30, Poland is set to launch a satellite into space that will enhance the country's capabilities and strengthen national security, according to Polish Deputy Minister of National Defense Cezary Tomczyk.
"On March 30 at 12:20 PM Polish time, another MikroSAR satellite from the POLSARI constellation is scheduled to be launched from Vandenberg US Space Force Base," he wrote.
The official says this will be another step toward building independent satellite reconnaissance capabilities for Poland's armed forces. The satellites will operate regardless of weather conditions and time of day.
"In practice, this means better situational awareness, faster decision-making, and a real strengthening of state security," Cezary Tomczyk said.
Poland's security
On March 28, Poland extended temporary border controls with Germany and Lithuania until October 1, 2026. The move was justified by the threat of a hybrid migration attack from Russia and Belarus.
Earlier, the media reported that Poland plans to launch mass production of Mark 1 short-range air defense missiles designed to counter drones, with a target output of 10,000 units per year.
