Poland to begin mass distribution of instructions on what to do during air attack

Poland will begin mass distribution of special instructions on what to do during air attacks and how to find safe places starting Friday, September 25, according to TVP Info.
The special 12-page guide will be published on government portals and also distributed to all local government authorities through provincial governors. In addition, the materials will be handed out during events organized by the Academy of Civil Protection and Civil Defense, as well as at national and regional exercises.
"The guide is not a new Safety Handbook, but rather a supplement to it, Deputy Interior Minister Magdalena Roguska emphasized.
How to prepare and act during an alert
In the new brochure, the Interior Ministry urges citizens to familiarize themselves with warning signals in advance and identify the locations of the nearest shelters and safe routes to them. Families are advised to work out an action plan, agree on a meeting place and communication rules, and prepare an evacuation backpack.
If a threat is announced and there is enough time and a safe route, citizens are advised to take their backpack and medication and then go down to a shelter using the stairs only, without taking the elevator. If it is not possible to reach a shelter quickly, people should remain inside a building with sturdy walls, following the two-wall rule.
What to do during an explosion and exercises in the regions
If an explosion catches you on the street, you should immediately lie down on the ground — in a low-lying area if possible — and cover your head.
If in a vehicle, people should quickly leave it and move to the nearest safe place. At the same time, the Interior Ministry emphasizes the importance of following instructions from the Government Security Center and official services.
Meanwhile, Poland is already conducting practical response exercises in border regions. Last Saturday, exercises were held in the Lublin and Podkarpackie voivodeships, while the next stages are planned for the Podlaskie and Warmian-Masurian voivodeships.
Today Poland evacuated people from the Dorohusk and Zosin border crossing points due to Russian strikes on Ukraine near the border.
In addition, yesterday a fire broke out at a Starlink satellite communications ground station in the Polish village of Wola Krobowska in the Masovian Voivodeship. Law enforcement officers consider arson one of the possible causes.
