Poland takes its fighter jets to the skies as the Russian army launched missile strikes on Ukrainian territory overnight into March 21, according to the Operational Command of the Armed Forces of Poland.

"The Operational Command of the Armed Forces is observing the intense activity of long-range aviation of the Russian Federation tonight, related to air and missile strikes on objects located on the territory of Ukraine," the statement said.

In response, the Polish Armed Forces Command activated all necessary procedures to ensure the safety of Polish airspace, while the Polish Ministry of Defense continues to monitor the situation.

"We warn that Polish and allied aircraft have been activated, which may result in increased noise levels, especially in the south-eastern part of the country," added the Polish Armed Forces.

Russian missile attack on March 21

Russia launched a missile attack on Ukraine overnight on March 21, targeting Kyiv. The aggressors fired 31 missiles - 29 cruise missiles Kh-101/Kh-555, Iskander-M missiles, and Kinzhal missiles. All missiles were destroyed in the Kyiv region.

However, debris from the intercepted missiles caused damage and fire in Kyiv. Buildings, kindergartens, and vehicles were damaged in the capital.

Over 10 people, including a child, were injured due to the Russian attack.
