The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland has summoned the temporary chargé d'affaires of the Republic of Belarus, Aleksei Ponkratenko, over an incident involving the death of a Polish soldier on the Polish-Belarusian border, according to the press service of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In the delivered note, the foreign ministry called for an end to provocations at the border and the organization of migration movements.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that Poland is the target of a hybrid, or combined, attack using various means.

"We are dealing with death squads, murders, arson, packs of trolls, and cyberattacks on critical infrastructure. This is a harsh attack on Europe," the ministry said.

In the note, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs demands the identification and extradition of the suspect in the killing of the Polish citizen.

"This is not an individual decision of bandits who attacked our soldier, but the result of preparation by the Belarusian side. And I promise that the Belarusian authorities will face consequences," said Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski.

Incident on the Polish-Belarusian border

Over the past two years, illegal migrants have regularly attacked the borders of Poland and Belarus and attempted to break through to the European country. According to intelligence, the regimes of Putin and Lukashenko intentionally transport migrants to organize provocations and destabilize the situation.

On May 28, at the border between Poland and Belarus, one of the illegal migrants attacked a Polish soldier with a knife.

On June 6, the injured soldier died in the hospital from the wounds.

Earlier, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Poland proposed to temporarily close access to certain areas on the border with Belarus.
