Poland scrambles aircraft amid missile strike on Ukraine
Poland intensified its military aviation on Wednesday, December 25, in response to a massive Russian attack on Ukraine, according to the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces.
"Attention, due to a Russian air attack, which may target objects located, including in the western part of Ukraine, military aviation has been activated in our airspace," the message states.
As noted by the Operational Command, Poland has placed combat aircraft, ground-based air defense systems, and radar reconnaissance systems on alert. The forces and resources have been directed to ensure the safety of areas adjacent to Ukraine.
Massive missile strike on Ukraine
Since the evening of December 24, the Russian army has launched drones at Ukraine. On the night of December 25, the Ukrainian Air Force reported that it had detected the launch of Kalibr cruise missiles from the Black Sea. There were also reports of ballistic missile launches.
The movement of enemy missiles is being detected in many regions of Ukraine. The Russian forces are heavily bombing Kharkiv.
