Poland, together with allied countries, scrambled military aircraft overnight on June 29 in response to Russia’s combined attack on Ukraine, according to the Twitter (X) account of Poland’s Armed Forces Operational Command.

"In connection with the attack by Russia, which is striking targets on the territory of Ukraine, Polish and allied aircraft began operating in our airspace," the military agency reported.

All available forces and assets were deployed, including fighter jet pairs on standby duty.

Moreover, Poland raised its ground-based air defense and radar reconnaissance systems to the highest level of combat readiness.

"These measures are aimed at ensuring security in areas bordering zones under threat. The Operational Command is monitoring the current situation, and forces and assets remain fully prepared to respond immediately," the statement added.

Strike on Ukraine – June 29

Russian forces launched a combined attack on Ukrainian cities. They first deployed drones, prompting air raid alerts across nearly all regions. Later, a MiG-31K took off from the Savasleyka airbase, followed by cruise missile launches.

A fire broke out at an industrial facility in the Kremenchuk district due to the strike. Zaporizhzhia was also targeted, and three people were injured in the Cherkasy region.
